Enchanted Rock + Fredericksburg
June 10-11, 2016
On Saturday we hiked Enchanted Rock. A quote by a frequent visitor, on display at the end of our hike, summed up the experience well:
“My heart feels lighter, my mind feels calmer and my senses feel tuned whenever I see that giant pink rock on the horizon. No matter how I choose to spend my time among the enchanted rocks of the park I always leave feeling better than when I arrived.”
After our hike, we had homemade ice cream (cherry vanilla + mint chocolate chip yummm) from Clear River and walked along Fredericksburg’s Main Street. In the evening we saw a local band and had spicy jalapeño margaritas on Hondo’s outdoor patio, under twinkling string lights and hill country stars.
- Enchanted Rock: Arrive early to beat the rush and the heat.
- Hoffman House: A group of gorgeous cabins that feel secluded and peaceful, but are situated just a couple blocks off of Main Street. They bring breakfast to your door each morning and have gluten-free options. Staying here really made the trip feel like a romantic weekend getaway.
- If you like candles, pay a visit to Circle E Candles (they have a bit of a cult following).
- We saw so many bachelorette parties, we lost count. Wine, spas, hiking in the hill country - it is kind of the perfect setting for a girls weekend...!
